How to choose correct ESC ( Electronic Speed Controller ) For Drone | Aeroplane | Car
Choosing an Esc is very Difficult for beginners who are entering the robotics and RC world. Esc is an important factor affecting BLDC motors.
BLDC mean Brushless Direct Current Motors which are used in RC models such as plane drone car etc. before I tell you choosing ESC module first you have to know about some elements (ESC, BLDC motor, Throttle, Thrust, Current, Voltage) these elements require huge performance on Beginner guide for the radio controller projects.
WHAT IS ESC?
An electronic speed control or ESC is an electronic circuit that controls and regulates the speed of an electric motor. It may also provide reversing of the motor and dynamic braking. Miniature electronic speed controls are used in electrically powered radio-controlled models.
WHAT IS BLDC MOTORS?
A brushless DC motor (known as BLDC) is a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor which is driven by direct current (DC) electricity and it accomplishes electronically controlled commutation system (commutation is the process of producing rotational torque in the motor by changing phase currents through it at appropriate times) instead of a mechanical commutation system. BLDC motors are also known as trapezoidal permanent magnet motors.
WHAT IS THROTTLE?
Throttle controls the speed of the engine and hence how fast or slow the propeller turns. On a glow plug (or petrol) RC airplane engine the throttle works the same as an internal combustion engine throttle, by changing the amount of fuel and air that enters the combustion chamber of the engine.
WHAT IS TOTAL THRUST?
The thrust angle is a very important and very overlooked element of RC flight. ... The downward thrust angle will compensate for the plane's upward pull. Seafury Funfighter has an extreme right thrust and this is to compensate for the small size of the plane and the torque of the motor
WHAT IS TOTAL VOLTAGE?
Voltage requires in radio transmission projects is compare as per the cell and voltage of Battery used in that device. This factor affecting on ESC and as well as BLDC motor if high voltage battery used in low amp ESC there are so many chances of burning ESC.
WHAT IS CURRENT?
Current is the main factor but we here use it as ampere. mean in the RC world we calculate everything by ampere
e.g, 30a ESC, 40a ESC, 50a ESC, ....

Here We come on our goal that we have to know about the ESC choosing guide.
There are many types of ESC in markets such as 30a ESC, 40a ESC, 50a ESC so on and the buyer thinks to buy a cheap less price ESC because of money problems. I told you this is the biggest mistake you do. If you don't have any knowledge you will be lost your path. you should know about the relation between BLDC motor KVA rating and ESC amp rating they both are Directly proportional to each other.
like these, there are so many KVA rating BLDC motors available in markets.
IMPORTANT NOTE:-
If you choose higher KVA rating motor like 2000 KVA you have to go for 50a ESC
Explanation-
Higher Throttle gain by BLDC = Higher amp ESC requires.
Lower Throttle gain by BLDC = Lower amp ESC requires.
If you use ESC for Aeroplane you have to use ESC greater than 40a rating
if you choose 30a ESC for higher throttle your ESC will burn because 30a ESC cant is able to carry higher throttle it will become hot and after some time your ESC will burn.
if you choose 50a ESC for 2200 KVA motor the motor and ESC both will ep Cool as ESC having higher capacity
